The US military said that US forces launched attacks on multiple targets inside Iran for a second consecutive day, after US President Donald Trump accused Iran of delaying negotiations over a temporary peace agreement. Earlier, Trump said he had spoken with senior Iranian officials who requested that the US halt the bombing. Trump warned that if Iranian leaders do not sign the agreement, the US will continue bombing Iran tomorrow. Before the airstrikes began, Iran's armed forces were fully prepared to respond to new attacks and were capable of striking additional US targets, Iranian media reported. The Strait of Hormuz has now been completely closed, banning the passage of all types of vessels, including commercial ships, and two ships attempting to transit the strait were sunk. However, the US Central Command refuted Iran’s claim that Hormuz has been closed, stating that commercial vessels continue to enter and exit the waterway. Brent oil futures leaped 2% to USD94.93 per barrel, while New York oil futures gained 2.54% to USD92.32 per barrel this morning (11th). As for US stock index futures, the three major indices dipped about 0.3-0.5%. AASTOCKS Financial News |
