CATHAY PAC AIR: 22 Flights Cancelled Over Next 2 Days on Extreme Weather Conditions

CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK) advised that due to the ongoing impact of the extreme weather conditions in Hong Kong yesterday (14th), its flight operations over the next two days have been affected. The extreme weather, which included Black Rainstorm and Red Lightning warnings, resulted in prolonged periods where flight operations were suspended at the airport. There were also extensive weather-related Air Traffic Control delays on all inbound and outbound aircraft. As a consequence, the deployment of multiple aircraft and crews were impacted, with many forced to hold overnight outside Hong Kong. In order to minimize the impact on customers and recover the schedule as quickly as possible, CATHAY PAC AIR have had to cancel 13 flights scheduled for today and 9 flights scheduled tomorrow.
